I was completely absorbed by this book. It starts with a humdinger of a mystery, how did the victims body get there when there are no footprints or drag marks around him in the field?! The mystery just gets deeper and more curious and complex as the story progresses.
This is the 9th book in the series and I have personally read the rest of them but this book can definitely stand up to being read alone. I do encourage you to read the whole series if you can though as they are all bloody brilliant books.
How the story is resolved is an issue that does need more publicity and it was great to see it getting this. I can’t say much more but society does need to be educated more on how to vigilante on spotting this. Even if this book makes people think twice on something they have seen and report their suspicions that it has done its job. Crime fiction and books in general are seen mainly as entertainment but they are also a way to highlight what’s wrong in society and help to change opinions and push people into thinking differently and modify their actions.
The characters development have seen them morph into well rounded personalities and the police team in particularly. I loved the addition of the fox cubs and I want to be invited over to hold them!
This is a book that definitely needs to go on your tbr pile, if not straight to the top of it!
