Review
‘The Last Testament of Bologna’ is fast paced, deftly plotted and is packed full of tension! This is the fifth book of the series that follows Daniel Leicester but this can be read as a stand-alone very easily. I do recommend reading the whole series though as they are cracking reads. I really look forward to picking up each new book as I know they deliver.
Daniel Leicester is a private detective based in Bologna and works and lives with his Italian in-laws, which at times makes for interesting reading. They are asked to attend the reading of a will and they have been charged by the deceased to investigate the death of their son Fabri, who crashed his car a few years ago. What follows is an intriguing mystery set in the fast paced and glamorous world of Formula One.
I was hooked from the start and despite not liking F1 I was enthralled by it all! You were definitely immersed into the motoring world with its egos and deep cultural ties to Italy. Daniel is a great character, nuanced and empathetic to those around him. We also find out more about his assistant Dorres in this book which highly pleased me as I knew there was going to be a brilliant backstory for her character!
Let me know if you pick this one up!
