The Watcher by Kate Medina

The Watcher by Kate Medina

Some secrets can’t be hidden.

The Fullers are the picture-perfect family, a wealthy couple with a grand home in the middle of remote woodland. But even they have something to hide – and it will prove fatal.

Some crimes can’t be forgotten.

Psychologist Dr Jessie Flynn and DI Marilyn Simmons arrive at the Fuller’s home to find a suburban nightmare. A crime scene more disturbing than anything they have ever encountered.

Some killers can’t be stopped.

Jessie knows that this is no random act of violence. And if she can’t unlock the motivation behind the crime and shine a light into this killer’s mind, the Fullers won’t be the only family to die…

Review

Right I am going to be completely honest and say I messed and totally forgot I was meant to be on this tour until yesterday - no idea what happened so no excuses from me. However, that does mean I am only about 60% of my way through the book 🤦🤦🤦

This is the fourth book in the Jessie Flynn series but this can be read as a stand-alone. However, I’m definitely going to go back and read her previous books as I really have fallen for Jessie. I want to know more about her and especially her childhood. It sounds all so intriguing. Please she saves a dog! Be still my heart!

Well this completely freaked me out right from the start. My dad used to live in the middle of nowhere and when it got dark it scared me to no end. I even had to walk to a converted outbuilding to sleep. Once you have that idea of something being out there it just takes ahold of you and you are terrified! That was what it was like reading this book! The thought of someone watching you and you would never see them is actually so frightening I don’t want to contemplate it. This book totally got me hooked in with this feeling being manifested in my body even though my brain knew I was safe in my bed. It has definitely ticked the boxes where is comes to ramping up the tension.

Now I might do something different here and try and guess who the killer is and why since I am only half way through. SO IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS LOOK AWAY NOW! I will update this tomorrow as well and tell you if I was right or not! But without giving away the ending if I am wrong.

OKAY SO SPOILERS AHEAD

Right I think it’s to do with Robbie’s dad somehow and it’s why his mum left and why he has visions of bones and dogs in relation to the lifeboat pier. There was the missing dog the woman in the refuge took on and the pic was located in the same beach. But it will have been something involving bullying and involves all three men - Hugh and Daniel and Robbies dad. No idea what they did but I can’t guess everything! But the killer is the dog man breaking into the kennels. Or it might be Robbie doing that and his Dad is using the dog analogy to say hey you caused this to happen to my son.

anyway check back tomorrow to see if I was right…….
