About the author
PJ Skinner is geologist who has spent thirty years roaming the planet and collecting tall tales and real-life experiences. Most of her postings were in remote and dangerous sites which provide background settings for her novels. She now writes fact-based novels from the relative safety of London. She still travels worldwide collecting material for the series and having her own adventures.

‘The Bonita Protocol’ was a great return to the Sam Harris series and it sees her back in her old stomping ground of Sierramar! Sam is still wanting to shake boundaries in the world of geology but when a job opportunity comes along with the chance to reconnect with Gloria and Alfredo, she jumps at it!
Sam is once again back in Sierramar but shocks of all shocks her new boss is a woman! An over-the-top Australian woman who is a clone of Gloria. Whilst Sam is working in the field Gloria and Amanda are partying every night! Alfredo is still a drunk and him and Gloria are drifting apart and Gloria feels very disconnected from her child. Sam role is to see whether there is potential drilling in the field but despite being seeing no positive results in the samples the results are coming back with positive numbers. Sam feels there is something wrong and is determined to find out! No matter what the cost.
I loved this book. The scenes in the mines were perfection - so much tension! I do hope that this didn't happen to PJ in real life. Once again it's the author's real-life experiences that make this book shine with authenticity and the series just keeps improving and showing different aspects of Sam’s character. It feels as if Sam is beginning to accept certain aspects of herself and matures with each adventure.
This is the fifth book in the series but you can read them all as standalone books. I can't wait for book six!
