A man is shot dead in a pub car park.

About the author.

I was born in Warrington Cheshire in 1967 but moved to Rutland in 1981 with my parents.
Attending Uppingham Community College, Rutland sixth form, and later attending Stamford College.
I have done various jobs, including a lifeguard, white van man, and temp work but working at RAF Wyton as a civil servant for the MOD for many years was my most loved career sadly ending in redundancy due to all the cuts to the civil service.

I live in Peterborough, married with one son. My writing started when I heard the archetypal saying, "Everyone has a book in them." Ideas have been floating around in my brain for a long time, so I thought it was about time to put them down on paper.

Review.

What a great start to a new police procedural series! It introduces the reader to Detectives Watson and Montieth - they are long term friends as well as colleagues, partners in fact. They come as a pair!

An ex-prisoner is shot as he leaves the pub one night - there doesn't seem to be a motive and very little evidence. As the bodies pile up the pressure is mounting for Watson and Montieth and the only thing that links them is the fact they are ex-prisoners.

I enjoyed the partnership between the two main detectives - they are funny, the banter is great between them and there is a storyline outside of work as well. I am looking forward to seeing how this evolves in the coming books as it was definitely left on a cliffhanger.

The motivation behind the killings is unique - I felt sorry for them as I could empathize with their situation. Which is a good sign as it means Tony has done his job well. It was good to see their perspective as well as that of the police investigation.

This is a good start to a series and it will be interesting to see how this will develop in future books.
